Fast Track Vs Standard Tanzania Business Setup

What is the difference between Standard and Fast Track? Standard Business Setup (USD 999) is the core registration, tax-pathway, ordinary municipal licence support, bank-readiness, notarisation support, eligible invitation-letter support and handover route, with a 14-working-day target after complete documents. Fast Track (USD 1,500) is that same core on a priority desk with a 7-working-day target for the core Standard route, plus.tz domain, professional email, digital stamp, BAKITA coordination, and NSSF/WCF/OSHA and TBS/TMDA professional support where applicable. Both targets are subject to authority processing. Approvals are not guaranteed.
Choose Fast Track or Standard by the licences and the calendar the file actually needs, not by the largest number on the page. Neither package is a government timeline. As of 22 August 2026. Sector classes still sit outside the BRELA stamp.
| Standard: USD 999 | Fast Track: USD 1,500 | |
|---|---|---|
| Core formation route | Yes | Same core, priority desk |
| Desk target after complete documents | 14 working days | 7 working days for the core route |
| Launch extras (.tz, email, stamp, BAKITA, NSSF/WCF/OSHA, TBS/TMDA professional support) | Not listed | Where applicable |
| Authority processing | Not guaranteed | Not guaranteed |
| Government / bank / notary invoices | Separate | Separate |
Zatra professional fees are published on pricing (Standard Business Setup USD 999; Fast Track Business Setup USD 1,500; Executive Investor & Regulated Setup from USD 2,500. Multi-Agency Mandates Desk from USD 12,500. Advisory: Senior Advisory Session USD 49; Market-Entry Assessment from USD 199; Onsite Supplier or Asset Verification from USD 499; Custom Mandates scoped after assessment). BRELA, TRA, licence, bank, notary and sector-permit charges are third-party and billed separately.
Pick Standard when
The activity takes an ordinary municipal business licence, ownership is straightforward (local or foreign), and you do not need the listed launch extras on day one.
Pick Fast Track when
You want the priority desk and the listed extras, and the licence still looks ordinary. A 7-day target is not a substitute for complete KYC.
Do not pick either when
The file needs immigration filings, a named sector regulator, TISEZA, nominee support or several authorities / an EIA pathway. Those sit on Executive or the Multi-Agency Mandates Desk.
What this comparison does not include
- Invented speed guarantees
- Bundled government fees
- A published discount for paying Fast Track after Standard work has begun
What both packages actually file
Both Standard and Fast Track are company-setup routes: business registration with BRELA coordination, initial tax-pathway review and tax registration, ordinary municipal business-licence support, bank-readiness documents, notarisation support for agreed package documents, eligible invitation-letter support and a post-registration handover. Confirm live steps on BRELA ORS and TRA. Neither package is a sector licence, a work permit or a TISEZA certificate.
Working-day targets, read literally
Fourteen working days (Standard) and seven working days (Fast Track) are Zatra desk targets for the core registration route after complete documents. They are subject to authority processing. Incomplete KYC, a name clash, a TRA query or a municipal licence inspection resets the clock. The Fast Track extras (.tz domain, professional email, digital stamp, BAKITA, and NSSF/WCF/OSHA or TBS/TMDA professional support where applicable) ride on vendor and regulator queues of their own. See digital launch extras and BAKITA.
Foreign ownership is not the fork
A 100% foreign-owned company in an ordinary activity can sit on Standard. Nationality is not the upgrade trigger. Licence class, immigration overlays, nominee, enhanced KYC and multi-regulator projects are. Read foreign ownership and when Executive is required before you pay for a card you do not need.
Mainland vs Zanzibar
These packages are Mainland-first. Zanzibar company, tax and ZIPA steps are a second file. Do not copy a Dar Fast Track pack onto BPRA and expect the same extras to land.
Verify against live pricing
Published professional fees stay on pricing: Standard USD 999, Fast Track USD 1,500. Government, bank, notary, registrar and vendor invoices are Column B. No approval is guaranteed. If the matcher on pricing points to Executive or Multi-Agency, do not force Fast Track to “save” a regulated file.
Frequently asked questions
Is Fast Track a guaranteed 7-day BRELA approval?
No. The 7-working-day target is Zatra’s priority desk target for the core Standard route after complete documents, subject to authority processing.
Can a foreign-owned company use Standard?
Yes. Foreign ownership alone does not require Executive. Standard and Fast Track both accept straightforward local or foreign-owned companies with an ordinary municipal licence.
When do I skip both and use Executive?
When the file needs agreed work/residence permits, a named sector licence, TISEZA support, nominee support, enhanced KYC or a 90-day plan, not because of nationality. See the Executive guide.
Does Fast Track include government fees?
No. Professional fees and third-party fees stay in two columns on every package.
Is Multi-Agency just a more expensive Fast Track?
No. Multi-Agency Mandates Desk (from USD 12,500) is a floor for files that need several authorities or an EIA pathway. It is not a fourth equal company-registration column.
Can I upgrade from Standard to Fast Track later?
Ask the desk before duplicate vendor work starts. Published prices do not include an unpublished upgrade discount.
