BAKITA Translation For Tanzania Company Documents

Does Zatra translate documents in-house? No. Fast Track Business Setup (USD 1,500) includes professional coordination with BAKITA (or the competent translation channel the receiving authority names) for agreed company documents. The translator’s fee is third-party. Standard (USD 999) does not include BAKITA coordination as a listed extra.
BAKITA on Fast Track is professional coordination of agreed company documents with the translation channel the receiving authority names. It is not an in-house certified translation and not a government stamp. As of 22 August 2026. The translator’s tariff stays third-party.
Receivers sometimes require Swahili or a certified English to Swahili pair for constitutions, IDs or board papers. Fast Track coordinates that channel. The translator still invoices separately. Zatra professional fees are published on pricing (Standard Business Setup USD 999; Fast Track Business Setup USD 1,500; Executive Investor & Regulated Setup from USD 2,500. Multi-Agency Mandates Desk from USD 12,500. Advisory: Senior Advisory Session USD 49; Market-Entry Assessment from USD 199; Onsite Supplier or Asset Verification from USD 499; Custom Mandates scoped after assessment). BRELA, TRA, licence, bank, notary and sector-permit charges are third-party and billed separately.
What this page decides
This page decides whether translation is in Fast Track professional scope. It is not a glossary.
- Confirm the receiver: Bank, BRELA, Immigration, a sector regulator, or a foreign apostille desk each writes different rules.
- Lock the source PDF: Translate the filed version, not a draft that still changes.
- Commission the named channel: BAKITA or the body the receiver actually names.
- Notarise if the receiver wants the translated set stamped: See notarisation.
- File the pair together: Source plus translation, not one without the other.
What this process does not include
- Unlimited document volumes beyond the agreed package list
- Marketing copy, websites or prospectuses unless expressly scoped as Custom Mandates
- A guaranteed acceptance by the receiving authority
If the file is a multi-regulator project, translation may sit inside a Multi-Agency Mandates workstream after written scope, still not a bundled translator tariff.
Competent institutions (verify live)
BAKITA is the Kiswahili council. It is not the company registry and not the bank. Some receivers name BAKITA or another certified channel; others accept English. Confirm the live instruction before you commission a word count. BRELA and banks each write their own language rules.
| Receiver | What it often asks for | What translation does not replace |
|---|---|---|
| BRELA / ORS | Whatever the live form lists, often English | Name reservation or beneficial-ownership filing |
| Bank KYC | Certified English to Swahili pairs for IDs or constitutions | The account decision |
| Immigration / embassy | A named certified channel for supporting papers | A visa |
Sequence with notarisation
Lock the source PDF first. Translate that version. Then notarise the pair the receiver named. Stamping a draft that still changes, or translating after a stamp on the English-only set, is how you pay the notary twice. See notarisation support.
Mainland vs Zanzibar
A mainland certified pair does not automatically satisfy a Zanzibar receiver. If the filing is BPRA or a Zanzibar bank, confirm that desk’s language rule separately.
Verify before you commission pages
BAKITA coordination is listed on Fast Track professional scope (USD 1,500), not on Standard (USD 999). The translator’s tariff is third-party. Confirm the receiver’s live channel on BAKITA or the named form, then brief the desk. Approvals are not guaranteed by a stamp or a translation.
Frequently asked questions
Is BAKITA in the USD 999 Standard package?
No. BAKITA coordination is listed on Fast Track and therefore on Executive professional scope. Standard does not list it as an extra.
Is the translator fee inside USD 1,500?
No. Coordination is professional. Word-count or page tariffs are the translator’s invoice.
Must every document be Swahili?
Only when the receiving authority or bank says so. Do not translate a pack that the live form accepts in English.
Can I use any translator?
Some receivers name BAKITA or a certified channel. Confirm the live instruction before you commission work.
Does translation replace notarisation?
No. Sequence them: lock the source text, translate if required, then notarise the version the receiver wants.
Will a translated constitution change shareholdings?
It must not. A translation that alters numbers or names is a defect, not a filing.
