When Tanzania Executive Investor Setup Is Required

Professional in a suit at a desk reviewing a regulated file
Direct answer

Does a foreign owner have to buy Executive? No. Foreign ownership alone does not require Executive Investor & Regulated Setup. Use Standard (USD 999) or Fast Track (USD 1,500) for a straightforward company with an ordinary municipal licence. Executive (from USD 2,500) is the professional route when agreed work/residence permits, named sector licences, TISEZA support, nominee support, enhanced bank KYC or a 90-day plan are in scope. Approvals are not guaranteed.

Executive is required when the file is multi-instrument, politically sensitive or too wide for Standard or Fast Track, not because the passport is foreign. As of 22 August 2026. The product follows the regulators on the map, not a preference for a larger invoice.

Zatra professional fees are published on pricing (Standard Business Setup USD 999; Fast Track Business Setup USD 1,500; Executive Investor & Regulated Setup from USD 2,500. Multi-Agency Mandates Desk from USD 12,500. Advisory: Senior Advisory Session USD 49; Market-Entry Assessment from USD 199; Onsite Supplier or Asset Verification from USD 499; Custom Mandates scoped after assessment). BRELA, TRA, licence, bank, notary and sector-permit charges are third-party and billed separately.

Executive is the professional route when

Executive is not required merely because

Multi-Agency is different

A mining plant, factory or other file that needs several government authorities or an EIA pathway is not “Executive plus hope.” It is the Multi-Agency Mandates Desk from USD 12,500: a floor, not a total. Zatra does not conduct the EIA study.

Instrument map (verify live)

Executive (from USD 2,500) is Fast Track professional scope plus agreed work/residence permit processing, named sector-licence applications, TISEZA support where applicable, nominee support subject to KYC/law/terms, enhanced bank KYC, a named advisor and a 90-day plan. Confirm permit classes on the Immigration portal, investment registration on TISEZA, and company existence on BRELA. None of those portals is a substitute for the others.

People, land and licences are separate clocks

A work permit does not incorporate the company. A TISEZA file does not grant a derivative right over land by slogan. A nominee director is not a hidden owner: beneficial-ownership filings, bank KYC and the extract have to tell the same story. Sequence people with work and residence permits; do not skip BRELA.

Mainland vs Zanzibar

Executive on the mainland does not file Zanzibar labour, BPRA or ZIPA by implication. If people will work in Zanzibar, map that overlay as its own scope.

Verify before you pay the larger card

Use the route matcher and live Executive page. Official Immigration, TISEZA, licence and bank charges stay separate. Approvals are not guaranteed. Foreign ownership alone is not the trigger.

Frequently asked questions

I am not Tanzanian. Is Executive mandatory?

No. Nationality is not the trigger. Licence class, immigration overlays, nominee, enhanced KYC and multi-party structure are.

What does ‘from USD 2,500’ mean?

It is a published starting professional fee for Executive scope, not an all-in government-plus-desk total. Named extras are agreed in writing.

Is nominee support permanent in the fee?

Nominee director/shareholder support is subject to KYC, law and terms. It is annual and renewable, not a one-time-forever appointment inside the setup fee.

Does Executive guarantee a work permit?

No. Zatra files agreed applications as professional support. Immigration decides. Official charges are separate.

One named sector licence: Executive or Multi-Agency?

One named regulator is typically Executive. Several authorities or an EIA pathway sit on Multi-Agency Mandates from USD 12,500.

Does TISEZA registration come with incentives automatically?

No. TISEZA support is professional coordination where applicable. Incentive certificates are a separate authority decision.
