Tanzania Crop Export Cashew, Coffee And Tea Boards

Which regulator licenses export of cashew, coffee, tea and similar crops in Tanzania? There is no single ‘crop export licence’. Coffee sits with the Tanzania Coffee Board. Cashew, tea, cotton, tobacco and other scheduled crops have their own boards or ministries. Customs/TRA sits on every commercial export. Use the Tanzania Trade Portal card for that HS/product, then the named board. Do not file coffee forms for cashew. Export paperwork sits on import and export compliance.
Each regulated crop keeps its own board. Coffee is TCB; cashew, tea and others have separate authorities. A company certificate is not an export licence. Mainland-first, 19 August 2026. Confirm the Trade Portal card for the crop you actually ship.
The gain is a regulator map that stops commodity-board mix-ups. If a sentence here disagrees with the live portal, the portal wins. Fees, forms, classes and processing times change. This page does not reprint a fee table that will be wrong after the next notice.
What this page decides
This page decides which board to open. Deep dives live on crop-specific sisters.
Fix four things before you open a portal for exporting cashew: the activity in plain language, who owns it, whether the work happens on the mainland or in Zanzibar, and the first operating step. On this file that starts with one instruction: name the HS and the process stage. While any of those is still moving, every instrument issued against them will have to be restated.

Typical sequence
The sequence is fixed; the schedule is not. The named crop board and customs each set their own pace, and an incomplete file resets it.
- Name the HS and the process stage: Raw, processed, roasted.
- Open the Trade Portal card: trade.tanzania.go.tz
- File that board’s class: Coffee, cashew, tea and other scheduled crops have different boards.
- Lodge the TRA/Customs export declaration: the board licence is not the customs entry.
Documents the file usually needs
Different classes ask for different evidence, and forms are revised without notice. Verify the current fields before assembling exporting cashew.
- Board licence
- Quality/phytosanitary as required
- Customs pack
Mainland vs Zanzibar
Cloves and some spices are Zanzibar-regulated. Map the island board.
Common mistakes, delays and repairs
- Using TCB forms for cashew
- Exporting kernel on a raw-nut licence if classes differ
- Skipping destination SPS rules
What this process does not include
- Price forecasts
- A fee table
Verify before you file
Open the named crop board, the Trade Portal card and TRA/Customs on the day you file. This page explains how exporting cashew works; the mapped service page is the commercial desk. Zatra does not issue licences, tax clearances or permits, and live regulator, bank and immigration rules govern.
Frequently asked questions
Is TanTrade the licensor?
The portal maps procedures. The named board licenses.
Can one exporter licence cover all crops?
Usually no. Classes are crop-specific.
Do I still need phytosanitary documents?
Often yes. See TPHPA.
Does this regulator map reprint crop-board fees?
No. Confirm the live crop board and TRA export process. A map of authorities is not a tariff.
Is mining on this map?
No. Minerals are the Mining Commission.
Does a TISEZA certificate export cashew?
No. Crop export still needs the commodity board and the live TRA export process.
