What sits behind ‘entrepreneurship opportunities in Tanzania’ in 2026? The same stack as any other Mainland business: a person at BRELA, a TIN at TRA, an ordinary business licence where required, and the sector class if the activity is regulated — plus a GN 487A screen if the founder is not a citizen and the activity is reserved. Foreign founders still screen GN 487A. Citizen founders still cannot skip TRA. TISEZA registration, when it applies, is section 15 of the 2025 Act — before commencing investment — not a prize for a pitch-deck trend.
Sequence for a founder who arrived with a trend
- Write the activity as a class. Kill the slogan.
- Form the company. Open TRA.
- Screen reserved activities if any founder is a non-citizen.
- Take the sector class before you trade.
- If you need investment facilitation, read the Act page. Do not invent a holiday.
A trend is not a licence stack
Entrepreneurship still starts with a vehicle at BRELA or BPRA, a TIN, a reserved-activity screen under Government Notice No. 487A of 2025, and the sector class. A destination slide is not a Cashewnut Board buying licence and not a Mining Commission class. Confirm the desk that owns the activity. This page reprints no GDP chart as a filing.
People files remain Labour then Immigration on the Mainland. Zanzibar is a different pair of desks. Fast is not a statute. TISEZA is an overlay where the project qualifies, not the first stamp. As at 11 September 2026, the trend still has to survive the objects clause and the class.
Which trend hits which desk
Agri-processing still hits a plant, OSHA and often a commodity board. Logistics still hits licensing and, if you haul regulated goods, the board that owns the cargo. Tourism still hits the tourism licence, not a BRELA extract. Fintech and lending still hit Bank of Tanzania or TIRA as those Acts name them. A “youth entrepreneurship” slide is not any of those classes.
People who will work still file Labour then Immigration on the Mainland. Island trends still file BPRA and island people desks. Confirm the live sector host. As at 11 September 2026, name the desk before you name the trend.
